Tyson family thanks fans

Retired boxer Mike Tyson has publicly thanked fans for their words of support as his four-year-old daughter fights for her life following a freak accident with a treadmill cord.

Exodus Tyson is still in critical condition in St. Joseph's Hospital in Phoenix, Ariz. after she was found unconscious and hanging from the power cable of the gym equipment on Monday.

Her seven-year-old brother raised the alarm and Exodus was rushed to hospital, where she remains on life support.

And the Tysons are grateful for the outpouring of concern in the aftermath of the accident.

In a statement released on Tuesday, they say, "The Tyson family would like to extend out deepest and most heartfelt thanks for all your prayers and support, and we ask that we be allowed our privacy at this difficult time."

Former champ Tyson was in Las Vegas when he was alerted to the emergency and immediately flew into Phoenix to be by his daughter's bedside.
