World Extreme Cagefighting bantamweight champ Miguel Torres threw out the first pitch in what ended up being a historic baseball game this week. Torres, touted as one of the top pound-for-pound fighters in the word, performed the honour at Cellular Field in Chicago Thursday before White Sox pitcher Mark Buehrle tossed the 18th perfect game in major-league history -- and the first in more than five years.

Silva-Bisping in works

Mmajunkie is reporting a fight is in the works between Wanderlei Silva and Michael Bisping. Both fighters are coming off losses, with Bisping falling victim to one of the nastiest knockouts of the year at the fists of Dan Henderson at UFC 100. The Silva-Bisping fight is rumoured to take place at UFC 105 in Manchester, England -- a card that will air free on Spike TV on tape delay.

Leopoldo lives!

Tales of Kimo Leopoldo's death were greatly exaggerated. Reports from numerous news sources in the U.S. declaring the fighter had died of a heart attack were later proved false. The source of the rumour began from a posting on an MMA fan site.

Soszynski steps in

Winnipeg's Krzysztof Soszynski will replace the injured Matt Hamill against Brandon Vera at UFC 102. Hamill was forced out of the Aug. 29 card in Portland, Ore., with a knee injury.

Hosts with the most

This Monday's RAW will be hosted by Shaquille O'Neal, with Entourage's Jeremy Piven hosting on Aug. 3. That follows ZZ Top, which hosted last week's show.

TNA title changes

Angelina Love is the new TNA Knockouts champ, winning the title at Sunday's Victory Road pay-per-view. Other title changes: Nash won the TNA Legends crown and Booker T and Scott Steiner won the tag straps. That's a whole lot of Main Event Mafia gold.
