Ottawa's Rachel Homan is in good position to earn a playoff spot at the world women's curling championship in Riga, Latvia.
Homan's Team Canada rink improved to 6-3 with two wins Wednesday — an 8-5 win over Germany in the morning followed by a 7-4 triumph against Switzerland in the nightcap.
The results leave Homan in a tie for third with Russia at 6-3 with two games remaining for each team in the round-robin. The top four teams make the playoffs, Scotland and Russia (both 8-1) lead the 12-team standings.
Canada wraps up round-robin play with games against China and Japan Thursday.
