The steely demeanour of Rachel Homan's Team Canada rink may have already been put to its biggest test — a few days before the world women's curling championship in Riga, Latvia.

The Homan crew, including teammates Emma Miskew, Alison Kreviazuk and Lisa Weagle, was stuck in an airport in Frankfurt, Germany for a day, unable to get out because of a snowstorm.

There may have been more people in that airport than there will be at the curling facility in Riga, beginning Saturday. It's not exactly a curling hotbed and will be silent compared to the noise generated at the K-Rock Centre in Kingston, where the Homan rink, based out of the Ottawa Curling Club, won the Scotties Tournament of Hearts a couple of weeks ago.
