Victoria to host men's curling worlds

The 2013 Ford world men's curling championship was awarded Tuesday to Victoria, B.C.

It will be held March 30-April 7 at the 6,500-seat Memorial Centre, the same venue that was host of the 2005 men's worlds.

Canada has won 33 world men's titles since 1959 and has the reigning champion, Jeff Stoughton's Manitoba rink.

The 2012 Ford women's championship will be March 17-25 next year in Lethbridge, Alta., while the 2012 men's will be in Basel, Switzerland next March 31-April 8.

The 2013 world women's has been awarded to Riga, Latvia.
