Moose Jaw, Sask. will host the Scotties Tournament of Hearts in 2015, the first time the city has staged the Canadian women's curling championship.
The decision to have Moose Jaw's Mosaic Place be the host venue for the Scotties Feb. 14-22 was made Wednesday by the Canadian Curling Association. The city has never hosted the Scotties but the 2012 version of the Canada Cup of Curling broke attendance records for the event.
“We couldn’t be happier to bring one of our marquee curling events back to Moose Jaw," CCA CEO Greg Stremlaw. “The 2012 Canada Cup was a shining example of a city supporting our sport and our curlers. We know the people in Moose Jaw, and all over Saskatchewan, will provide an amazing atmosphere in 2015.”
The 2015 Scotties will include a pre-qualifying event that will determine the 12-team field.
