Ontario skip Rachel Homan advances to Scotties Tournament of Hearts final

KINGSTON — Rachel Homan needs one more win, the biggest win of her life, and she'll stand tall in the record books beside legends like Sandra Schmirler, Connie Laliberte, Colleen Jones, Marilyn Bodogh and Jennifer Jones.

Winning a Scotties Tournament of Hearts championship would be a dream come true for an unflappable 23-year-old who has been curling since she was five and who has developed and cultivated plenty of shotmaking, smarts and guts along the way.

Homan, out of the Ottawa Curling Club, booked a spot in Sunday night's championship game, with teammates Emma Miskew, Alison Kreviazuk and Lisa Weagle, outshooting four-time Scotties champ Jones, a superstar who had really found her game this week. This was a game where she couldn't afford to make mistakes, but she did. Whatever Jones could do in the 8-5 loss just wasn't enough against a team that avenged its only loss of the round-robin portion of the tournament (9-7).

Do you think the officiating has been fair in the Kings-Sharks series?
  Yes
  No
No ... but the refs seem to be evening it out themselves
