The Canadian Women’s Curling Championship is set to return to Montreal after a 34-year hiatus.

It was announced Sunday that the 2014 Scotties Tournament of Hearts will be played in the Maurice Richard Arena, beginning Feb. 1 of next year.

“The first organized curling club in Canada was formed in Montreal in January 1807,” said Greg Stremlaw, chief executive officer of the Canadian Curling Association.

“This is a very rich part of our history as a sport and as a country. It is fitting that we should bring one of Canada’s most popular national championships back to the place where curling began.”

It has already been announced that Kamloops, B.C., will be the host of the 2014 Tim Hortons Brier, the Canadian men's curling championship beginning March 1 of next year.

Is the season lost for the Toronto Blue Jays or is there still time to turn things around?
Plenty of time to get it turned around
They're quickly running out of time
It's lost. When do the Argos start?
It was over before it began
