SAULT STE. MARIE, Ont. -- P.E.I.'s Kathy O'Rourke defeated Newfoundland's Shelley Nichols 9-4 at the Essar Centre this morning to clinch a Page playoff berth at the Scotties Tournament of Hearts with an 8-2 record.

Ontario's Krista McCarville also rebounded from her worst day at the Scotties with a 7-3 victory over Nova Scotia's Nancy McConnery to clinch at least a tie-breaker spot with a 7-3 record.

Quebec's Eve Belisle kept her faint tie-breaker hopes alive by knocking off New Brunswick's Andrea Kelly 6-5, upping her record to 5-5.

Sharon Cormier of the Yukon/Northwest Territories upset Saskatchewan's Amber Holland 9-5, dropping Saskatchewan to 5-5.
