EDMONTON - They’re buff. They’re tough.

To curling’s old guard they send a message: That’s enough.

Brad Jacobs of Northern Ontario had his mojo going from the get-go in an 11-4 Tim Hortons Brier win over three-time Brier winner Jeff Stoughton of Manitoba.

Jacobs and his Sault Ste. Marie crew of third Ryan Fry, second E.J. Harnden and lead Ryan Harnden will wear Team Canada colours at the Ford Worlds in Victoria, B.C., later this month.

Jacobs sealed the deal in the fourth end, executing a pick shot for three to go up 6-2.

Game, set and match before a crowd of 10,897.

“Oh, my god,” said Jacobs, who earned the Hec Gervais award as Brier playoff MVP. “I don’t even know how to feel. It’s overwhelming. It’s really overwhelming what’s going on. I’m so proud of the guys for curling the way that they did.
