EDMONTON - Ontario’s Glenn Howard has clearly proven he’s the cream of the crop at this year’s Tim Hortons Brier.

It’s just the teams he’ll be facing that have to find a way to get it together.

Howard had his Brier win streak snapped at 20 games in a 6-5 loss to Kevin Martin Friday night, but didn’t seem to mind the boisterous crowd.

“When you have games like that, back and forth with a lot of great shotmaking, it’s a pleasure to be part of that,” said Howard, who finished the round-robin at 10-1. “So what, we lost. Boy, was it exciting.”

Despite the crowd’s effort for their hometown hero, Martin is out of the playoffs despite running a six-game win streak to finish at 7-4.
