EDMONTON - Glenn Howard may not have a spot in the 1-2 game locked up yet, but chances are he can see it from here.
The defending Brier and world champion remained undefeated with a 8-5 Sunday night win over pre-event co-favourite Jeff Stoughton of Manitoba.
Howard ended his day as one of four undefeated teams after Day 2.
“I really like the way we played that game,” said Howard. “We were really solid. I got Jeff on a bit of an off-day, which is good, which is kind of nice for us. I thought we handled the ice and rocks great the whole game. It felt real good.”
Howard ends his week in Friday’s final draw against co-favourite Kevin Martin, but would be considered the favourite in his seven remaining games before then.
“If you told me beforehand that we’d be 3-0 at this point, we’d be really happy,” said Howard. “Jeff Stoughton is one of the best teams on the planet. When you get a win against him, you’re really happy.“
