Kamloops, B.C., will be the host of the 2014 Tim Hortons Brier, the Canadian Curling Association announced Tuesday.

The 85th edition of the Brier will begin March 1, about one week after the 2014 Sochi Olympics wrap up. Kelowna also was host of the 1996 Brier, when Manitoba's Jeff Stoughton defeated Kevin Martin of Alberta in the final.

"The year 2014 is stacking up to be an incredible Olympic year with some very unique championship locations and events being hosted by the CCA," Greg Stremlaw, the organization's chief executive officer, said in a statement.
