Jennifer Jones and her team are staying together.
The St. Vital rink, which won gold at the Games in February, announced on their website Tuesday they’ll be staying together for the next four years in the hope they’ll represent Canada again at the next Winter Games.
Jones, backed by third Kaitlyn Lawes, second Jill Officer, and lead Dawn McEwen, will compete in the Grand Slam Players’ Championship in Prince Edward Island starting today, then begin focusing on becoming the first Canadian team to repeat as Olympic curling gold-medallists.
“We are excited to officially announce that our team is fully committed to staying together and working hard to get another chance to represent Canada at the Olympics,” said Jones, in a prepared statement on her website. “We truly enjoy playing together, and we share the same goals and commitment. And now that we’ve been to a Winter Olympics, the desire to get to another one will make us work even harder for the next four years.”
