WINNIPEG - Alberta is expected to return to being the epicentre of Canadian curling next season.

Three events – the Brier, Canada Cup and Continental Cup – are expected to be announced in the coming days.

A press conference has been called for Wednesday in Camrose, your correspondent has learned, to announce the next Canada Cup will be held in the Rose City.

The Canada Cup is held every three years and replaced by the Roar of the Ring Olympic Trials. It features eight men’s an women’s teams qualified from other competitions. Jennifer Jones and Kevin Martin qualified for direct entry in The Roar by winning the Canada Cup in Cranbrook, B.C. two years ago and Stefanie Lawton and Jeff Stoughton qualified for The Roar from the Canada Cup in Moose Jaw last year.
