You can add Glenn Howard to the list of the great skips taking their last stab at the rings.

The four-time Canadian and world champ, two as the leader of his own Ontario foursome, acknowledged on Saturday his slide down the Olympic road will either end in Sochi, Russia, in February, or in Winnipeg, Canada, this week.

"It's probably my last year of Trials," Howard, 51, said after a final practice for Sunday's opening draw. "Whether it's my last year of curling, probably not."

Howard's proclamation adds yet another layer of tension to the festivities.

Winnipeg's Jeff Stoughton, 50, has already said the same and Alberta's Kevin Martin, 47, appears to be on his last Olympic legs, as well.

Over on the women's side, local star Jennifer Jones is probably in the same boat, perhaps not yet creaking, at 39 years young, but definitely drifting away from the rocks and towards an actual personal life.
