WINNIPEG - So, Ron Burgundy, aka the Anchorman, is coming to call a draw at the Canadian Curling Trials this weekend.

The hilarious Will Farrell character has been hired by TSN to lend his brand of hijinks to the proceedings and the competitors don't really know what to expect.

"Like most people, I saw it on Twitter and I saw the video, and I thought that it was a joke," Manitoba skip Mike McEwen said Monday.

Will it be a distraction for those taking aim at an Olympic trip?

"No, because I think he's just doing the ladies draws, so I'm just gonna watch on TV and see what happens," McEwen said. "It could be quite entertaining. But I think it will be done tastefully, so I don't think anybody's too worried about it taking anything away from this event."
