EDMONTON - There’s always been a Nedohin at the Canadian curling trials.

Heather broke the ice in 1997 at Brandon as a member of the Cathy King rink.

Dave was there with the Ferbey Four in 2001, 2005 and 2009.

With this year’s Winnipeg trials less than three months away, the local couple has a chance to make curling history.

It’s a long-shot, for sure, a one in 64 probability they’ll both represent Canada at the Sochi Olympics.

Until John Morris shocked the curling world when he left the Kevin Martin rink, it was an impossible dream.

Morris’s departure gave Dave a chance to jump straight into the lineup of the 2010 gold medallist. Nedohin got Ferbey’s blessing to join one of the world’s most dominant teams.

“Obviously, I was lucky enough to step in on a team as good as they are,” said Dave, who’s seeing his first action with the team at this weekend’s September Shootout at the Saville Centre.
