TORONTO - They're young, they're talented and they were heading in opposite directions at The Players' Championship.
Brad Jacobs is fresh off winning the Brier and scoring world silver, whereas John Epping has been struggling to find the form that saw him capture glory in 2012.
The two Ontario squads clashed in Thursday night’s draw at Ryerson’s Mattamy Athletic Centre and it was Epping who scored a crucial 6-2 victory in just six ends. His Toronto foursome grabbed deuces in the first, third and sixth frames to improve their won/loss record to 1-2.
And not a moment too soon, as Epping and Jacobs (1-1) happen to be battling for the sixth and final direct menís berth into the Canadian Olympic trials.
