Two Canadian legends will be inducted into the World Curling Hall of Fame next month.

Alberta's three-time world champion Ron Northcott and Manitoba's two-time world champ Don Duguid will be inducted April 7 at the conclusion of the men's Worlds Curling Championship in Victoria, B.C.

Northcott, 78, won world titles in 1966, '68 and '69 while Duguid, 78, followed up with titles in 1970 and '71.

"It's certainly an honour and I'm very excited about it," Northcott said. "I have no idea who would have nominated me and how I got by the selection committee. But it's certainly an honour and I'm very excited about it."

Duguid, who turned to broadcasting after his competitive playing career was over, was equally excited about the news.

"It's been quite a journey for me and it's quite an honour," said Duguid. "There's not too many people in there, so it's kind of rewarding."
