Ejected curler Chris Schille lashes out at judge
By QMI Agency

Chris Schille managed to get himself ejected from a qualifier in Melfort, Sask., where they apparently take their curling a little too seriously. (QMI Agency)

MELFORT, SASK. - It isn’t every day you see an ejection in curling – much less removal from an arena.

Despite having second Chris Schille ejected from the game in the second end the Brock Virtue Rink persevered and claimed the B Event qualifier spot, becoming the second team to earn a berth to the Championship event at the 2013 SaskTel Provincial Men's Curling Championship.

Schille was removed from the Northern Lights Palace in Melfort, Sask. for questionable behaviour with the team leading 2-0. Still, with only three players, the Virtue Rink held on to defeat Josh Heidt 5-3.

But it was what Schille tweeted following his ejection that has most people talking.

Virtue posted singles in both the seventh and eighth ends to secure the win.

In C Event games, Brad Heidt scored three points in the second end, added two in the fourth and stole two more in the fifth end to beat Darrel McKee 7-4.

Steve Laycock scored singles in both the first and second ends, allowed Brent Gedak to score one point in the third end, before posting five points in the fourth end and singles in both the fifth and sixth ends to win 9-1.

Kevin Marsh scored two in the third and three in the eighth to double-up on Randy Bryden 6-3.

The next draw goes at 2 p.m. today, Saturday February 2, at the Northern Lights Palace in Melfort where the last two qualifiers for the championship draw will be determined.

Competing for the playoff berths are Brad Heidt and Laycock on one sheet while on the other sheet Kevin Marsh takes on Josh Heidt.

Are you encouraged by the Toronto Blue Jays' recent winning streak?
Yes, team is starting to gel
No, team is not championship calibre
Unsure what to make of it
