TORONTO - The women are front and centre in Canadian curling this week as seven provincial championships are underway. The winning teams earn a trip to the Canadian championship next month in Kingston, Ont.

Three provinces have been declared to date. To no one's surprise, Kerry Galusha of Yellowknife kicked off by capturing another Territories berth. Down on the rock, former Canadian junior champion skip Stacie Devereaux upset veteran champ Heather Strong to win the Newfoundland and Labrador title. On the Left Coast, former world champion Kelly Scott of Kelowna made it four B.C. titles in a row -- and six out of the past nine -- with a fairly easy final victory over Patti Knezevic of Prince George.
