Replacing a front end usually isn't the best recipe for defending a curling title, but Jamie Sinclair has barely skipped a beat, so to speak.

The Manotick skip, with Londoner Holly Donaldson as her longtime third, added second Katwlyn Wasylkiw and lead Erin Jenkins this season and the foursome stands one win off the lead at the Ontario junior women's championship at Highland. They improved to 4-1 with a 7-4 win over former teammate Casandra Raganold of Winchester in Friday afternoon's eighth draw.

"We knew they were a very strong front end, so it wasn't that much of an adjustment," Sinclair said of replacing Raganold and Chantal Allan, who is skipping a Highland rink here. "They'd played together for a while and Holly and I had played together for a while, so it was just a matter of meshing the two halves."
