Winnipeg on target for 2013 trials?

LONDON, Ont. -- Winnipeg reportedly will get the 2013 Olympic curling trials -- a decision to be announced Wednesday at the Tim Hortons Brier.
The Canadian Curling Association refused Tuesday to confirm the report.
The trials will be held Dec. 1-9, 2013 at the MTS Centre to select Canada's reps at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia, according to a report Tuesday in a Winnipeg newspaper.
"It's not from us," Warren Hansen, CCA director of event operations and media relations, said of the report.
He said there are bids from Winnipeg, Ottawa and Saskatoon on the table, narrowed down from six.
"We went through the process of negotiating contracts for hotels and facilities with each of the three bid cities and those contracts are sitting in Ottawa. (Wednesday), we'll sign one of them.
"As I'm sitting here at this moment, no one has been advised that theirs is the winning bid."
The trials were first held in Brandon in 1997 and went to Regina in 2001, Halifax in 2005 and Edmonton in 2009. Peter Inch, chair of the host committee for this Brier, has said the 2017 trials might be a potential target for London, Ont., and Hansen said the trials "would do OK" in the Forest City.
