Ferbey, Nedohin to team up
By TERRY JONES, QMI Agency
MEDICINE HAT — Randy Ferbey and Dave Nedohin will ride together again.
Ferbey confirmed here Wednesday that he’s going to hook up with his old last rock thrower for a run at the 2011 provincial championships in High River.
“He gave me a call,” said Ferbey, the all-time Brier king with six titles, four with Nedohin, Scott Pfeifer and Marcel Rocque. He’s a four-time world champion, three with the team which left the 51-year-old the last man still curling after wrapping up an 11-year run together.
“He said he’s played seven or eight times in a men’s league with some guys and hasn’t won a game yet this year. I don’t even know who we’ll play with or when but I told him whoever he gets to fill out the team will work for me.”
While Rocque showed up here Wednesday to play with Ferbey and Brad Gushue, there’s no chance he’ll be there with them for the provincials.
“They called me Sunday to replace Ryan Fry. I thought, why not. It’s a chance to play with two Olympic gold medal winners and one more time with Ferbey. It’s my third game plus a few nights of mixed with three beginners.
“I’ve got three days off to use this year and this is it.”
