By QMI Agency

Nadine Chyz and her Alberta queens split two draws Tuesday at the national junior women's curling championship.

Chyz and the Calgary rink lost in the morning 9-8 to Saskatchewan's Trish Paulsen but rebounded in the afternoon to win 8-6 over Manitoba's Breanne Meakin at the 2010 M&M Meat Shops Canadian Juniors in Sorel-Tracy, Que.

The results leave the Alberta foursome tied for fourth with a 4-3 record.

Rachel Homan's Ontario rink improved to 6-0 with a 19-1 thrashing of Amanda Moizis (0-7) of the Northwest Territories in six ends.

Meanwhile, the Alberta junior men's champions skipped by Edmonton's Brendan Bottcher dropped to 4-3 after losing a morning draw to Alex Forrest's Manitoba rink.

Forrest & Co. lead at 7-0.
