Selkirk's Dave Boehmer made sure there was no mixed repeat for Winnipeg's Sean Grassie.

Boehmer's foursome captured the Manitoba Mixed Curling Championship yesterday in Melita with a 7-4 victory over Grassie, the Deer Lodge skip who won the Canadian mixed title with a different team last November.

Boehmer, third Kerri Flett, second Kyle Einerson and lead Tamara Baurnecht will represent Manitoba at the 2009/2010 Canadian Mixed in Burlington, Ont., Nov. 15-22.

Boehmer reached yesterday's final by beating Grassie 9-5 in the Page playoff 1-vs.-1 game.

Grassie bounced back yesterday morning with an 8-2 win over Terry McNamee of Brandon but once again Boehmer got the last laugh in the final.

Grassie will still represent Canada at the world mixed doubles championship in Cortina, Italy in April.

He will be joined by his former third Allison Nimik.
