Jill Officer denied there was any sort of infighting that led to the sudden dismissal of lead Dana Allerton from the Jennifer Jones team.

"There was no catfight and no incident that led to the decision," Officer, the team's second, said yesterday. "Dana worked really hard and put in a lot of time with the team, and we respect that.

"But we felt that she wasn't the right fit in the big picture, so we thought now would be the right time."

'BEST FRIENDS'

Jones is the leader on the cash tour.

"We have had a great year, but we just decided that it wasn't going to work," Jones said. "It's nothing personal, it's just business as we are trying to put the best team possible together. She is one of my best friends, and I'm hopeful we will remain friends."

Team fifth/coach Janet Arnott has replaced Allerton as Jones heads to Berne, Switzerland, to defend her bonspiel title this week.
