Kevin Koe's Edmonton foursome showed a little spark this weekend.

The foursome, which includes last-rock Blake MacDonald and second Carter Rycroft, lost the C qualifier last weekend in Lloydminster but bounced back to win the $24,000 Roaming Buffalo Classic in Wainwright yesterday afternoon, beating Quebec's Pierre Charette 9-6.

Along with the $9,000 first-place money, the team grabbed 20 Alberta Tour points and now lead the race with 34 points.

Kurt Balderston picked up five points in Grande Prairie and is tied for second at 28 points with Calgary's Adrian Bakker.

This weekend's Alberta Tour finale, the $54,000 Pharma Choice Curling Classic in Red Deer, will determine which two teams get the bye to the 2007 provincial final.

Meanwhile, former Ryan's Express world champion rinkmates Don Walchuk and Randy Ferbey made their reunion count at the inaugural Nuway Crushing Ltd. spiel in Whitehorse. They breezed through the opposition for a $6,000 payday.

The rink included Arnold Asham at second and Red Deer hotshot Chris Schille at lead.
