Faye White is comin' home.
At least to her former home rink.
White, who knocked off Lisa Johnson 6-3 in the B final of the women's northerns in Hinton yesterday, has a soft spot for the Shamrock Club.
The win gave her a berth to the Alberta Scott Tournament of Hearts later this month at the Shammy, her second-ever appearance at the provincial final and first in a dozen years.
"It'll be nice to get back there," said White. "I've played a lot of games at the Shamrock. Jennifer Scott and I started up the women's Super League and we stayed there for five years. It feels pretty good to break through again."
The Sherwood Park skip of the far-flung team has struck an affiliation of convenience with the Camrose club. Lead Glenna Rubin is from Edmonton, second Christine Erichsen is from Stettler and third Marie Miller originally hails from the Strome area.
Miller's brother Pat has skipped teams at several provincials.
"About an hour's drive for everybody," said White, who skipped her team to the semifinal of a club men's spiel in Camrose. "We're coming from all different directions.
White got into the final by upsetting Deb Santos 9-6 in Saturday night's semifinal.
"We've had a good weekend and we're starting to play well," said White.
Chana Martineau beat Deb Santos 5-4 to qualify out of the C Event.
