INNISFAIL -- Pressure? Marcel Rocque must have felt it more than anybody.
Rocque's wife Raylene throws second rocks for Cathy King, whose rink is headed to St. John's, Newfoundland, later this week for the Scott Tournament of Hearts.
Even though Randy Ferbey's lead has already won world titles, Briers and five straight Alberta crowns, a loss wouldn't have been pretty.
It could have given Raylene an opening for some good-natured teasing, once Marcel was consoled.
"There's two schools of thought there, yeah," said Rocque.
"She might have been teasing me, but I just hope the magnitude of the Brier doesn't overshadow what she's done.
"It's pretty special to have both of us go to the nationals."
After babysitting his two daughters, Rocque will head out to St. John's on the final weekend of the event.
So has he given Raylene any tips on how to shake a fist at any unruly fans, like he did during last year's Brier final in Saskatoon.
"If it happens," said Rocque. "I'll take care of them myself."
What a guy!
