The roll of the rock wasn't in Ralph Brust's favour last night.

Brust, a Calgary skip, lost 7-4 to Quebec's Eve Belisle last night in the opening draw of the Canadian mixed curling championship in Prince Albert, Sask.

The two teams were tied 4-4 after six ends and then blanked the seventh end. Belisle got a single in the eighth and then stole a point in each of the last two ends.

Brust will try to get on the winning side today, facing Newfoundland's Mark Nichols and Kamloops, B.C.'s Scott DeCap.
