SLAM! Dunk March Mania (the "Contest") is a way for one to test one's own prognostication skills when it comes to predicting the performance of various college basketball teams. This on-line Contest coincides with the 2005 college basketball championship tournament. The Contest commences on March 17, 2005 and concludes with the final game of the 2005 college basketball championship tournament on April 4, 2005. SLAM! Dunk March Mania allows you to select which team(s) you think will win on a given day from the lists we provide. From all eligible entries received, the winners will be determined according to the scoring rules defined in these Official Rules. SLAM! Dunk March Mania is provided solely for entertainment purposes or as a pastime and is not to be used as the basis for any wager. The Contest is administered by Fantasy Sports Services Inc. on behalf of SLAM! Sports and CANOE Inc. (herein referred to as CANOE) and is not endorsed by nor affiliated with the NCAA tournament. There are three overall Grand Prizes. The approximate retail value ("ARV") of the prizes to be won is $1200.00 CDN (see Prizes below).
- Eligibility
No purchase necessary. This contest is open only to legal residents of Canada. Void in Quebec. Participants must be 16 years of age or older to be eligible to play. Employees of CANOE, Fantasy Sports Services Inc., and any subsidiaries, affiliates, advertising, promotion or publicity agencies, or members of their immediate families, are not eligible to win. If you reside in the province of Quebec, you may play the game for enjoyment purposes and have your place noted in the standings, however you will not be eligible to win a prize.
- How To Enter
One entry per person and/or e-mail address. Any additional entries submitted by the same contestant at a later time or date will nullify all of their entries. A contestant who submits more than one entry will not be eligible for prizes. Complete the SLAM! Dunk March Mania on-line registration form at: http://slam.canoe.ca/Slam/Contests/SlamDunkMarchMania/.You will need a CANOE Id username and password to play the SLAM! Dunk March Mania. If you have previously competed in a SLAM! Sports online contest (i.e.: Speed Stick 24/7 Hockey, CFL Pigskin Picks), you must use the same CANOE Id that you were assigned at that time. If you have forgotten your CANOE Id, please contact us. Click here if you need to get a CANOE Id. There is no fee to register, play, or change selections in SLAM! Dunk March Mania.
- How to Play
The Contest consists of accumulating fantasy points based on predicting how individual teams will perform in the daily games in each of the contest rounds.
Predict the winner for each game in the contest period you are entering (see Contest Dates and Deadlines below).
Predict the total combined score the two teams will score in the SLAM! Dunk March Mania Final Championship Game (for tiebreaking purposes). Only games we list for a given contest period will count towards that contest. If a game is not completed, for any reason, then the winner of that specific game will be the team that is determined the winner by the college basketball tournament and the score will be 1 - 0.
PLEASE NOTE: Daily deadlines are posted with the game form. In the event a game or games should start prior to the entry deadline originally posted with that day's game form, then the daily deadline can then be changed by the contest operators to the earlier start time. Therefore, it is incumbent upon participants to check the game time in the event a game is rescheduled. Remember, you can make your selections once we post a game form for a given day and you can submit changes to those selections up until the daily deadline of that given contest day. The last changes you submit, and that are confirmed, before the daily entry deadline for that given day's games are your official selections. All basketball games will be numbered by week. In the event of a tie a tiebreaker will be used to determine a winner of a prize (please see Winners and Prizes/Tiebreakers).
- Contest Dates and Deadlines
Overall Contest Entry Deadline: There is no deadline for the overall contest, but only daily game forms completed, submitted and confirmed by that daily deadline will count towards your overall score. Once games are posted for a given day in the tournament you may enter your selections of the teams you think will win each game on that day. You can make changes to your selections up until the daily entry deadline (see contest deadlines chart) for that given day's games. The last changes you submit, and that are confirmed, before the daily entry deadline for that given day's games are your official selections. If you do not submit a choice for a game, then you will receive no fantasy points for that game.
Round-by-Round Contest Entry Deadline: There is no deadline for each round contest, but only daily game forms completed, submitted and confirmed by that daily deadline during that contest round will count towards your overall score in that contest round. Once games are posted for a given day in the tournament you may enter your selections of which teams you think will win each game on that day. You can make changes to your selections up until the daily entry deadline (see contest deadlines chart) for that given day's games. Daily Deadline: Each day of SLAM! Dunk March Mania we will post games for that contest day and for the following contest day. If you submit, and receive confirmation of your selections for any contest day before the contest deadline of that day, then you are officially entered. You may change any or all of your selections as long as they are submitted, and confirmed before the daily deadline for games scheduled on that given day. The last changes you submit and that are confirmed before the daily deadline are your official selections. If you do not submit a choice for a game, then you will receive no fantasy points for that game.

- Scoring System
Fantasy Point Scoring System
Entries will collect fantasy points (FPs) based on the fantasy point scoring system (see below). Teams are ranked (1) one (the highest ranking) through (16) sixteen (the lowest ranking) in their region. A lower ranked team receives more fantasy points for winning a game than a higher ranked team.
PLEASE NOTE: For the purpose of the Semifinals and Final we will post a higher and lower ranked team, based on the teams' rankings within their respective regions. If two or more teams are ranked equally within their respective regions then the contest operators will determine the higher ranked team for each game.

Incomplete Games
No points will be awarded for any game that is postponed, cancelled, delayed, suspended, or considered incomplete for any reason by 7 a.m. Eastern Time on the next day immediately following the scheduled starting time of the game. Games that are ruled incomplete will be removed from the contest and the results of that game will not count towards this contest week.
- Winners and Prizes

The eligible winners will be the FOUR (4) entrants with the most numbers of Fantasy Points (FP's) accumulated from all selections submitted on all daily game forms from March 17 through April 4, 2005.
Tiebreakers - For the purpose of the tiebreaker for the overall contest we will ask each entrant to predict the score in the Final Championship Game of the basketball tournament. If two or more entries are tied for a prize, then the following tiebreakers will be used, in the order listed until all ties are broken, to determine the winner of the prize:
1) The entry that correctly selected the winner of the "SLAM! Dunk March Mania, Final Championship Game";
2) The entry whose prediction was closest to the actual total combined score of both teams in the "SLAM! Dunk March Mania, Final Championship Game";
3) The entry whose prediction was closest to the actual total combined score of both teams in the "SLAM! Dunk March Mania, Final Championship Game" without going over the score;
4) A draw between all remaining tied entries.

IMPORTANT NOTICE: All prizewinners are unofficial for a one week period following the conclusion of the overall contest period. In the event there is a discrepancy please notify Fantasy Sports Services Inc. at the following e-mail address: info@fantasysports.ca within the one week period otherwise it will be assumed the standings are correct and the standings will become official.
Winners will be notified by telephone and/or e-mail within six to eight weeks after the standings become official.
- Terms & Conditions
The contest is open to residents of Canada only (excluding Quebec), age 16 and over, except employees and members of their immediate families, or persons domiciled within the same household, of CANOE, Fantasy Sports Services, Inc., their advertising agencies, prize suppliers and independent contest organizers. By entering, contestants agree to abide by contest rules and decisions of the independent judging organization, which shall be final.
CANOE, Fantasy Sports Services Inc., and any organization associated with (directly or indirectly) CANOE, is not responsible for technical, hardware or software failures of any kind; lost or unavailable network connections; failed, incomplete, misdirected, garbled or delayed computer transmissions, or any other situation that may limit a registered player's ability to compete in the SLAM! Dunk March Mania.
Grand Prize winners will be notified by e-mail or telephone within six to eight weeks of completion of the contest. Prizewinners must reply within 10 days to remain eligible to receive their prize or the prize will be awarded to the next eligible contestant. Winners are responsible for all federal, provincial and local taxes levied on the prizes. Winners grant CANOE the right to use their names in advertising and promoting the game without any compensation, where not prohibited by law. CANOE is responsible for notifying prizewinners and prize fulfillment. CANOE reserves the right to substitute prizes of equal or greater value. CANOE reserves the right to amend or alter the rules to the game at any time. Moreover, CANOE reserves the right to cancel the game at any time.
By entering the contest, entrants consent to the use of their name, city of residence, video image and/or photograph in any related publicity or Internet posting carried out by CANOE, without compensation. In the event of a dispute regarding who submitted an on-line entry, the entry will be deemed submitted by the holder of the e-mail account.
By entering the contest, each entrant accepts these contest rules and regulations, which are subject to change without notice.
By entering the contest, each entrant releases the sponsors and any other person or entity associated in any way with the contest, their respective parents, affiliates, subsidiaries, directors, officers, employees, agents and their respective advertising and promotional agencies from any and all liability arising in connection with the contest, including, without limitation, the selection of the eligible winner and the administration of the contest.
In any dispute, CANOE will decide the issue in a manner which, in its sole opinion, is the fairest to all parties concerned. All decisions by CANOE will be final and binding on all parties. By entering the contest, players agree to abide by these rules. Any violation of the rules is cause for voiding a player's entry. Contestants agree to hold CANOE and Fantasy Sports Services Inc., harmless from any and all losses, damages, rights, claims and actions of any kind in connection with this game.
The odds of winning will depend upon the number of entrants, the timing of entries and the prognostication skills of the entrants.
- Privacy
By entering the contest, Entrant agrees to (a) CANOE's use of Entrant's personal information for the purposes of administering this Contest and, unless otherwise specified, for market and consumer research purposes; (b) disclosure of the entrant's personal information on this entry form to third parties within the CANOE Network; and (c) CANOE's use of entrant's personal information as described in CANOE's Privacy Policy at: http://rapids.canoe.ca/cgi-bin/reg/NR-register.pl?LANGUAGE=EN&MODE=PRIVACY_POLICY&LOOK=CANOE. To the extent that CANOE, as one of the Sponsors, collects, uses and discloses to third parties your personal information, it will do so only for the purpose of administering the contest and awarding prizes.
