What do you think about the UFC staging a fight in Toronto? Tue, December 7, 2010

The UFC will stage its first fight in Ontario on Apr. 30 at the Rogers Centre, president Dana White said Tuesday morning.
White told media at a press conference at the Air Canada Centre that he expects the UFC 131 event will be the most attended of all time.
There is no word yet on who will be on the fight card.
The provincial government expects that a major UFC event in Ontario would draw up to 30,000 fans and generate up to $6 million for the local economy, including cash from hotel rooms rentals, restaurant meal expenditures and retail purchases.

Dana White is getting ready to make loads of money expanding to Toronto. He wins. Leafs fans get their frustrations out by watching two guys fight in the Octagon instead of the ice rink before returning to hockey. Leaf fans also win.

So, this the worst plague to hit the city according to some people. If you don't like it, don't watch. Let people enjoy what they want. God forbid the fight starts and a hockey game breaks out...

To all those that are against, please exlain why all these sports are OK seperately, not not OK together? Boxing, Judo, etc are Olympic Sports! It's a competition.

I figure the first event will be at the Rogers Centre, for the simple fact of breaking the North American MMA attendance record, possibly even the world attendance record. Ontario has long been starved for MMA and fans are hungry to attend an event. I suspect once the buzz dies down and we've seen a few events in this great province you'll see the ACC hold annual UFC events. All those who don't support MMA so be it however belittling and calling people sick,stupid etc for being a fan of the sport shows how little you actually know. Pankration one of first Olympic sports combining wrestling and boxing. Each of the practiced sports on their own is okay, Kickboxing, Boxing, Wrestling, Jiujit su. Suddenly you combine these Martial Arts and sports into one competition and you're sick?? Give your head a shake. Thumbs up to the Ontario Government, UFC and everyone involved and support your local MMA.
