Senators assistant coach Luke Richardson — a former teammate to many of the team’s players — and his wife Stephanie have tragically lost their 14-year-old daughter, Daron.
The Senators confirmed in a statement late Saturday that Daron tried to take her own life by hanging herself at the family’s home. The club said she was rushed to hospital and succumbed to the injuries in ICU.
There is never any blame in such cases. This young person has I suppose found some peace in her actions but what a legacy for the family. My deeply felt regrets for your family's pain.

Such tragedy for her family. My heartfelt condolences to Luke and the rest of his family. It should not have happened to a classy person like Luke.

My heart breaks for your family. My thoughts and prayers are with you. The pain of losing a child by suicide is horrific. We too have lost a child to suicide. I pray you seek help from a suicide bereavement councillor, they can help you with the griving process.

My sincerest condolences for this family and young sole. No more pain for her, but such pain left behind.

Perhaps suprisingly, many families have had connections to suicides, mine included, and while it's extremely difficult to understand, leaving you with a bunch of "what ifs" - it is especially hard when it involves someone so young.
Prayers and thoughts are with the Richardson family.
