The UFC is coming to Toronto next week to make what it bills a "major announcement."
Co-owner Lorenzo Fertitta and president Dana White have called a media conference for Tuesday at the Rogers Centre.
However the Ontario government said Thursday that there is no change in the works to the long-held opposition to sanctioning mixed martial arts in the province.
White has appeared in Toronto on numerous occasions in the past to try to pressure Premier Dalton McGuinty to change his stance.
A rally in support of mixed martial arts is already scheduled for Saturday on the lawn at Queen's Park.
What do you think the UFC will announce next week? Should mixed martial arts be allowed in Ontario? Have your say in our forum.

From what I've read they have tried to go around the Provincial level and are trying to change the wording in the Criminal Code of Canada. Maybe there is some success on the horizon there. But I'd accept nothing but a concrete date for a UFC event in Toronto.
