Did Souray cross the line criticizing Oilers management?
Mon, April 12, 2010

ROBERT TYCHKOWSKI, QMI Agency

If Sheldon Souray made it known long ago that he wants a trade, and management made it known long ago that they’ll do everything they can to accommodate him, why the venomous stone-throwing when all it does is make things harder. And uglier?

Good bye, don't let door hit on the way out!

Sheldon has done some great things off the ice... this isn't one of them. In expressing how you feel it is never a good idea to air out your dirty laundry in public. Nothing good will ever come out of approaching challenges this way Sheldon. I hope you learn the lesson. Stay healthy and give value to your employer... that is what gets you results.

I wouldn't want to play or live in Edmonton either.

It really goes to show how stupid people can be. Here is a decent player, and a supposed leader on this team, makes the stupidest decision possible to fight Iggy, breaks his hand in the process, and then goes on to demand a trade? I think souray has taken one to many hits to the head. It makes no sense to expect the big bucks like he makes, while his career is going down in flames! Then to top it off, wants to bad mouth management on the way out. I agree, very crass! Bye Souray.

Get a grip people...it's Sheldon Souray for crying out loud, it's not anyone of note at all. Nobody cares what he says...and nobody will know he is gone

Obviously with all the big names running out of Edmonton over the last few years, there is something wrong with Edmonton's Management. Maybe this will be a good thing for the Oilers, and fans will start seeing the proper changes made in Edmonton to have world class players wanting to sign in Edmonton. Plus like Souray said, nothing against, the fans, the city or the players. It was strictly a management thing.

Souray is an overpriced bum....hope he ends up with a team like the Islanders with no hope of winning a Cup before he retires. So long cry baby!

Good riddance! If possible try and convince Horcoff, Pisani, and Moreau to join you on the way out.

trade his a** for a bag of pucks. end of story

Sorry guys, Souray has earned the benefit of the doubt, the idiot Oiler mgmt has not. The Oilers are the most disfunctional organization ever. I was at the skills competition last year, the Oilers were out on the ice competeing in the various silly skills things with a group of kids. Of all 23 Oilers the only one who spent any time with these peewee age kids was Souray, for two hours he hung out with them, he represented the team, the only guy. He hasn't been the same guy since Jarome Iginla Bareback rode him head first into the boards. Souray is a player with dignity who knows his faults, the Oilers are a joke. If I was the agent of one of the top [prospects I would be suggesting to the Oilers they pick the other guy.
