If Sheldon Souray made it known long ago that he wants a trade, and management made it known long ago that they’ll do everything they can to accommodate him, why the venomous stone-throwing when all it does is make things harder. And uglier?
He did a lot of moaning and groaning, but obviously he was fed up and wanted out.If you hate where you work then you gotta do what it takes to get out of a bad situation. There's more to the story than the public knows. He needs a fresh start elsewhere. He still has a few good years left with the right team.I wish him luck.

It's management that puts these guys on a pedestal, pays them millions and tells them how great they are until they believe it.
That's why we get the whining, the high ticket prices and half-assed hockey.
Remember what the Swiss rec hockey team did to our millionaires in the Olympics?
Brian Burke should have fired the entire Leaf team and hired them on the spot. They might have made the playoffs.
But that isn't how the old boys club is run.
General managers never make mistakes and if they ever were to,the players and reporters are supposed to keep quiet about it.
It's the code of the NHL.
Souray is as good as gone. His outburst will be the excuse because no GM is going to admit he screwed up and no reporter that wants in the dressing room will ever say he did.

It's amazing how 'stars' can whine. Boo, Hoo, Hoo... A few years ago Souray was saying all the right things: blah, blah, blah, and the Oilers forked over $$$ that made him as happy as he could be. It wasn't really L.A, but hey, the $$$ were good.
It seems the more they make, the more they whine.
While the family guy has to just about sell a kidney to bring his family to a game:
the poor abused, underpaid, player who can't succeed in adding a Stanley Cup to his
resumé because the team overpaid for his services and thus didn't have more $$$ to fill the holes ; sits and whines.
Sheldon Souray, I,ve got two words for you:
SHUT UP !

What's the matter Tych.!..Second article on the same guy in the matter of a few days.
By any chance, did Souray tell you something you didn't like? Players are "told" to suck-it-up all of the time. So...it didn't happen to other players, that you so conveniently "quoted". It don't mean squat about what has happened to Souray.

Why are there so many idiots who say Toronto would want him? Remember Healey? Burke hates guys like that no matter how talented you are. I say the NHL owners should get together and pool their money together and create a fund to have players like this 1. Pay off their contracts and oust them of the league. 2. Black list them so that they can never play in North America at any level including coaching for life.

Here we are again with the Chris Pronger and Dany Heatley syndrome.
Too many NHL players feel a right to entitlement. They have contracts that they dishonour just by going public against management. Suspend the clown! Let him sit at home. Playing for $Millions is simply not enough. Now Souray wants to behave like he's a tennis player who picks and chooses where and when he'll play.
Vince in Ottawa, 2010-04-14 03:06:38
Let me see if I have this right. A player who is constantly on the injury list, is growing older, and who has a fat contract which adds up to a cap hit of $5,400,000 for the next two seasons, has demanded a trade! Where? No team in their right mind - and that includes the Leafs (who already have $22 m tied up in D next year anyway) - will take on that Albatross. What I'd say to Souray is, "tell you what Sheldon - re-negotiate your contract to half that and we can probably find a taker. Otherwise, you're going to make your $5.4 but you're going to do it in the minors."

I've been to Edmonton, Toronto, and Montreal, and if I had to move to one of those cities, I'd choose Edmonton any day. The city may have its problems, but it beats dealing with people who think they live at the center of the known universe.

duh..
who wants to stay in that place.
