Was the National Parole Board right to pardon Graham James? Sun, April 4, 2010
BRUCE CHEADLE and JIM BRONSKILL, The Canadian Press
Graham James, the junior coach convicted of sexually abusing his players in a case that rocked the hockey world from house leagues to the NHL, has been pardoned by the National Parole Board, The Canadian Press has learned.
No wonder criminals and terrorists prosper in Canada. Get tough on crime eh Stephen? That entire parole board should be fired!! Don't be surprised if people resort to vigilante justice in wake of this obscene decision. I would not want to be James now that he is free and Canadians now know about it. Where is he going to hide?

Our judicial system and our governments have completely failed the citizens in even the most basic ways! We can't trust them to do the right thing in any way, even in the most obvious of situations or cases!

So upstanding citizens get deported, while criminals takes forever to get deported. A 40 yr old women can hook up with a 16 yr old male. A terrorist can threaten Canada and get 1 day in jail. hmmmm way to much double standard here. So again a pedophile gets more right than victims. Something just isn't right

Hey Ontario, just keep voting for Liberals!!Canada's justice system is a joke. A pedophile will get 3 years and be out in six months. In the USA, he would get 15 to 20 years. And one other thing...just try to see if that pedophile is on the sex offender list that the FEDS keep. Even parents of the victim can't get that information because...GET THIS...the pedophile's privacy rights have to be protected!!!!!

We live in a sick society. The guilty walk free and easy while the victims walk in shame and frustration. Just because everyone can apply for a pardon doesn't mean that they should automatically be granted one. No sexual predator should ever be granted a pardon I don't care what his story is.

Shed a tear as I read this , not only this monster but how many more were pardoned. They have scared there victims for life , so they too should be marked for life - boo hoo they can't get a job!!!!! I am embarrassed by my government when I read these stats

To Michael - Yes this committee was appointed by the Liberals but the Conservatives rubber stamped their re-appointment. Both party's SUCK!

How can a Federally funded board not be accountable to the Federal Government? Sounds like another cushy job for politicians friends. Something like a Senator I'm thinking.
Sorry but ALL Pardon's should be granted by a committee of Wardens and agreed upon by the Government. I want PROPERLY TRAINED people making these decisions.
Think about this - This same committee that just gave James a Pardon could do the same thing with Bernardo and Olson!
STOP THIS INSANITY!

Apparently only for liberal appointed bureaucrats.

I'd like to see what the other 14,000 people pardoned in 2007 did. There must be another 1000-2000 violent assaults in the list. In the article it said only about 100 of 14,000 were denied, so they pretty well rubber stamp the request.
The fact that James had national airtime doesn't make his actions any worse that the other 1000's of serious crimes that were pardoned after the convict finished their jail time.
