Great Canadian hockey stories end up with Canada winning 6-5, not losing.
And great Canadian junior hockey stories end up with Jordan Eberle the hero.
But the ending didn't fit the script.
What are your thoughts on Canada's junior team following their overtime loss to the U.S. at the World Junior Hockey Championship? Have your say in our forum.
The goaltending last year was average but Canada got lucky and still won. The goaltending this year, was average (at best) and the luck went to the other team.
The US was the better team throughout the tournament and deserved what they got. Canada also deserved what they got - a Silver medal - which is nothing to be ashamed of.
The US will return possibly 10+ members to next years team, so just like with the Olympics, Canada may not see anything gold in hockey for sometime.

Definately agree with quinnohara. The US played a better game both tonight and on New Years Eve and deserved to win. Canada had way too many giveaways, especially Ryan Ellis. It was a treat watching Eberle play. Being an Oiler fan it gives me some hope for the future of the franchise. I am proud of the Canadian team and enjoyed watching them, however this year they simply were not the best team.

The US deserved this win. While I am proud of the team, especially Eberle, they did not play well enough to win. Too many give aways to speak of to call there play quality tonight. The goaltending was never solid and how did Ryan Ellis make the team? Peitrangelo was rock solid, but I found the play of Hall and Khadri disappointing. There is always next year boys.

How can you not be proud. The streak had to end sometime. Sadly it had to happen on Canadian soil. Good work boys on the Silver. Now go to Buffalo and take Gold next year!
