What are your thoughts on Tiger Woods?
Wed, December 2, 2009

Tiger Woods says he has let his family down and regrets "those transgressions with all of my heart."

In a statement Wednesday on his website, Woods says he has not been "true to my values and the behaviour my family deserves." He offered his "profound apology" to his supporters.

In his statement, Woods did not offer details of any alleged relationship.

He also said he has been "dismayed to realize the full extent of what tabloid scrutiny really means."

What are your thoughts on Woods' alleged extra-marital relationships? Have your say in our forum.

I heard another good one yesterday while watching coverage of the current golf tournament which Tiger was supposed to play in (and host I believe).

One of the announcers commented that Tiger withdrew from the tournament as a result of his involvement in a car accident - Period. That's like someone pushing someone else of a high building and saying that the pushee died as a result of hard impact with the ground - doesn't quite cover the whole story.

Seems like all of Tiger's sponsors, the PGA, the networks et al are in denial and "nothing to see here" mode, in the interest of protecting the "Tiger" brand and all of the dollars that it generates for them. As I said in my previous post, check your morals at the door when it comes to protecting revenues.

Welcome to Britney Spears world Tiger. Why would you be "dismayed"? Have you never picked up a tabloid and seen what these people do? I have prediction. Tiger will just retire. Any further accomplishments in golf will just be tainted and he will never be the man Jack Nicklaus is anyway. He has blown all hope of being recognized as the world's greatest golfer. He will have won the most (if he keeps at it) but he won't be the greatest. Even if Jack or Arnie or Sam Snead ever had any dirt in the closet, it never came out and that is really the only meaningful issue appropos the media nowadays. Tiger will retire because he knows it is over now. If he got so upset before with cameras clicking in his backswing, what is he going to do when they shout "Cheater" and "Slut" before, during and after every shot? The worst part of all in this whole fiasco is what he has done to the reputation of the black man once again. Tyson, Bryant, Vick did enough damage. Tiger had the potential to offset some of the fodder these idiots supplied to the rednecks but now, no. Just retire dude and leave the greatest name in golf to the greatest person and that is Jack.

A bomb shell has hit the tiger home and if he has any backbone he will come clean and move on . the golf world waits to see how damaging this scandle will be and as a golger I hope this will not lower the bar as most people have no intrest in media hipp just good golf.Everyone who is in the spot light is a target and I am sure the line up could get long as the lawyers see a pay day with every claim ...good luck Tiger dan from thailand

J Blackman; will those be blue balls...?
Mike, 2009-12-04 15:26:18

Excuse me Laurel, Not even Wayne is squeaky clean. Remember the betting and gambling issue. Not enough evidence to get into court but nonetheless there was something there. Tiger simply stuck his putter in a different hole (allegedly) get off his back.
Mike, 2009-12-04 15:15:41

Maybe he will just have to start his own companies now and endorse his own brands...maybe a new brand of balls for instance...Entitle-ist!
J Blackman, 2009-12-04 07:45:10

The question I ask;Why do I care??
Steve Sacrob, 2009-12-03 23:47:55

What I find truly amusing is the original denial, of his behavior...then he comes somewhat clean.

So on top of being a cheater, he's also a liar.

He was meaning to lie, it was only because more and more proof was coming to light that he decided to admit to anything.

He's a cheater and a liar. I wouldn't want him endorsing my product lines.

I agree with Corrine 12-03 comments. It is pathetic to say you are human so excuse my mistake.. Be faithful to your wife and family. Have morales and accountability. You are to measure up to a higher standard as you make millions from our adoration and purchasing of your endorsements.

I don't care for golf and I do even less now.

George.
