Which city is the best race host? Tue, August 4, 2009
Upon news that the Formula One racing circuit will be returning to Montreal in 2010 after dropping the city from its schedule last year, which city -- in your opinion -- is the best at hosting a motor sports event?
Is it Montreal, with its history as the host of Formula One's only Canadian race? Or what about Toronto and its Indy heritage dating back to 1986? Don't forget Vancouver and Edmonton have also hosted races.
Montreal does racing best, but while racing is great fun and brings money to the city... Montreal has been spitting out green through the teeth to have it.
With F-1 there is no loyalty to the race fans, only the green, but with NASCAR and Indy racing there is.
I used to go to F-1 races, but no more, and will continue to go to the NASCAR or Indy events as they come. I hope that fans will avoid F-1 here and make a statement, but the fact is that F-1 has it's own following and it brings many from Europe and Asia over to see the race.
