There was a time when Roy Halladay never would contemplate accepting a trade to leave the Blue Jays.

But those days are long gone.

And sooner, rather than later, so too will Halladay.

J.P. Ricciardi, the Blue Jays general manager, opened up the big can of worms surrounding the possible trading of the Jays all-star right-hander yesterday when he told a U.S.-based website: "We have to see what's out there. I'm not saying we're going to shop him. But if something makes sense, we at least have to listen. We're (leaning) more toward listening than we've ever been."

Halladay's three-year, $40-million US contract runs out in 2010, which will fuel speculation about his departure through this year's July 31 trade deadline and beyond.

The fact is the BlueJays are going nowhere fast even with Doc,so they should look at getting rid of some high priced help for some quality up and coming talent and or draft picks.They should look at getting rid of Wells and Rios who have done squat for the team except count their millions.And then the obvious move is get rid of the GM.
