Lazy and uncommitted might work in junior, but it won't cut it in the NHL. If Tavares wants to play in the NHL, he will mature.

Brett Hull once carried a similar label. Look where he is now.

Hey Jeff, lazy and uncommitted to the team sounds like the perfect fit for the Islanders. The first overall pick is just another chance for the Isles to overpay for a long term contact.

Having seen Tavares play many times I would recommend Hedman. Tavares is lazy and not committed to team play.

You'd have to think it would be Tavares or possibly Hedman.

But then again, the Islanders have a history of making dumb decisions. It'll depend on who's making the choice in NY, the GM or the owner.

It has to be Tavares.

The Islanders have sunk not only in the standings, but financially as well. They need to take a shot at pulling themselves back up. Their best chance is in Tavares. If he lives up to his billing, like Crosby and Ovechkin before him, he will not only move the team upwards but put fans back in the seats as well.
