Who do you have a beef with over TSN2's availability?
Fri, May 1, 2009

BILL LANKHOF, SUN MEDIA

In three weeks the Blue Jays could meet the Boston Red Sox in an unexpected battle for first place.

Fans from coast to coast can flick on the TV remote to watch -- but not in Toronto. Not if you happen to be one of the 2.5 million subscribers to Rogers Cable -- the primary supplier in the GTA.

The series will be on TSN2, whose ownership has been unable to reach agreement to have the TSN2 signal distributed by Rogers.

It is the latest potential debacle in a corporate battle that has been a source of frustration for sports fans since TSN2 launched in August.

Who do you have beef with over TSN2's availability? Have your say in our forum.

The Jays play 162 games this year and there's no way I am going to watch every one of them. I've got better things to do.

Turn the TV off, round up some friends, and play some baseball in the park. Way more fun.

I remeber the Seventies and Eighties.

You used to get 2 Maple Leafs games a week basically - every Wednesday and Saturday night.

Baseball? You'd get 1 or 2 games a week.

Now, people have to see every bloody game in every sport going.

How do people have the time to watch every game?

We were satisfied with fewer games back then. I also listened to the non-televised games on the radio back then.

Those of you still stuck with Rogers, do yourself a favour get something else. You're getting screwed.

Get satellite if you can, or something.

Rogers Cable is 100% to blame! This is no mystery.

So, what, exactly am I missing by not having TSN2? Jays and raptors games? Not exactly going to lose any sleep over that. I would guess that a Corporal's Guard might be ticked. Big deal.

Add to the list, another valid reason not to live in Hogtown.

I don't believe Mr. King for a second when he says only a couple of Raps games were affected. There have been numerous occasions in the past couple of weeks where they showed recorded programs like sportfishing on TSN and live Champions League knockout soccer games on TSN2. Both parties are to blame. Bunch of sqaubbling kids...

Does Rogers or the Blue Jays really care?

My allegiance to the Raptors has slipped to the lowest level in years as the Maple Leaf comglomerate squeezes every dollar it can from anywhere it can (games on TSN2), but they have not thought of the fans since approx 1967.

But when the Blue Jays begin to farm out their games to a broadcaster that does not broadcast in Toronto, well lets just say we have hit a new level of idiocy.

Paul Beeston lets hope that you did not have anything to do with a this decision.

I'm sure the farmer in Flin Flon is tremendously concerned about the upcoming Jays Red Sox series.

I have a beef with Rogers. I pay good money throughout the year for the sports packages which include ALL hockey, baseball, football etc. When a game is shown on TSN2 non of the sports package channels have the game, which essentially is ripping me off...
