Thu, May 28, 2009
It took seven games, but the Pittsburgh Penguins shocked the defending champion Red Wings in Detroit. What are your thoughts?

WTF TG in Ottawa bitter you are just plain stupid man. Crosby is the best and he will prove it. I guess in Ottawa all you have is an under acheiving Spezza and an overpaid Heatly hey. When this game is called even for both teams I will begin to watch this crap again until then Bettman and his raod show can bite me

Picture this if you can...Datsyuk, MVP candidate, playing for Detroit and Malkin, MVP candidate, not playing for Pittsburgh. What chance would Pittsburgh have? If Malkin would have been suspended, the Pens go down 3 - 0 and it is defenitely over. The NHL are going to do everything they can do help Pittsburgh win just like last year when the refs called those goalie interference penalties against Detroit to help the Pens win the overtime game.

The media and the NHL want Pittsburgh to win the cup. You listen to the talk shows on the radio and watch the sports shows and its all about the pens.

The media can promote the Pens all they want and the NHL can try to help them as much as possible but it is not going to make a difference.

Detroit is the best team in the world. Crosby and Malkin know it that is why they is trying to goon it up against Zetterberg. They can't beat them playing hockey so they are trying to get him out of the game any way they can. Maybe they think that without Datsyuk and Zetterberg they have a chance to win but even then Detroit will win. That is how much better they are than Pittsburgh

funny to see comments about Detroit being mostly European. Used to be that way...they used to be the team with the most. Check out the Habs line up , or a few others..Detroit is no longer the "european" team. Also many didn't give them the respect. many of my friends picked every other West team over the Wings to win the Western division. Not sure why when Detroit has the most extensive playoff experience and practically the same core players that have won the cup so many times in the past few years. Also many question Osgood as a good goalie...Anyone have doubts now?? Fleury looked like a rookie next to him so far these past games.

I won't guess how many games theis series goes and maybe Pittsburg will come back, but my point was that too many people just write the Wings off year after year and they dominate

Detroit...they have a lot of playoff experience!

After watching Detroit dominate the Pens in the first 2 games, I agree its Wings in 5 or 6. Their secondary players would be top 6 on most teams. Wings ability to skate, skate & check, & handle the puck is impressive. Everyone seems to support each other with no obvious weakness- Another wake up call to Pens

Enjoy the P/O

The refs and the wings seem to be ahead of the Penguins... perhaps someday the game will be called evenly... until then... I'll stop watching this crap!

I hope that Detroit pulls it off. I'm sick of the all-Crosby-all-the-time show. Another futile appearance in the finals would help to take some of the shine off.

Maybe I'm a bitter old man but I hope that history records Sydney Crosby as the best player to never win a Stanley Cup.

It was funny how everyone gave this to Pittsburgh, including the media. What this was based on I do not know, I do know Detroit is far more superior of a team, even now with Pittsburgh going home, they are still in this series. It is over Detroit in 5, wake up.
Walter, 2009-06-01 10:42:44

Ah, not looking good for the Pens. Shall we say Detroit in 5?
