Cheers to the Penguins.
Condolances to the Red
The series was a really good one and game 7 was tops.
Ok so where are you Crosby bashers now ???
The Kid got to where he is by having an ultimate love for the game and personal determination.
Mario Lemieux and Ray Shero built and tinkered a team around Crosby, Malkin, Fleury, and Staal...and all four are barely out of diapers, there can be quite a few more before this fantastic four loses the super powers.
Pittsburgh did it with as much determination from everyone taking 4 of the last 5 games, and with a good old Canadian style called dump and chase forechecking to constantly make Detroit start out from behind their net.
I really liked the commercial that aired through the playoffs with Crosby and the Pens at the bench after losing to Detroit in game 6 and the previous cup series....
Lesson learned... Cheers!

Best thing was watching Hossa not win the cup. Turn your back on your team and leave to go to the team that beat you last season, cause you want to the win the Cup.
Just to watch it slip from his hands. I really enjoyed seeing that!
Cup is in Canadian hands in my books. Sid, Staal, Lemieux, etc... they deserved it!

Did you see Crosby's face after last year's loss? He's gonna score the winner tonight.
People give the Wings too much credit. They're really good, but they're not invincible.

What is the big deal with beating up on Crosby? The guy has been one of the better players and even if he didn't score a point, he still gets loads of attention and takes the pressure off his teammates. Exactly the same thing was said prior to and during the Washington series and guess what, Crosby is still playing and Ovechkin not so much. As for is he worth the money, my opinion is nobody is worth that much, period.
As for, "Wings are the better team by far", the last I heard 3 games won is not greater than 3 games lost, so not so far as you might imply. Tonight will decide.

players like Helm are the cup winners. The superstars are expected to play like they always do but it's the Helms and Cleary's who during regular season don't score a pile of points but come up huge in the playoffs. You can find players from the past who did the same. Goring of the Islanders, and Claude Lemieux..many hated him for his diving but he sure was a leader in the playoffs. They stepped. Helm isn't big but he sure can play hard..he's the complete playoff package..fights hard in the corners. He gets knocked down hard and it doesn't bother him and he has incredible speed and great stick handling.

What's the big money from winning the cup? If you mean the revenue from a full arena, then true Detroit and Pittsburgh get the most extra cash for going the distance, and Detroit has one extra game. I would bet though that some other teams have had better attendance throughout the regular season, and enough to best out some playoff teams. I am not sure what other money there is. The management must cough up bonus money to the players for winning, but I think other than getting the cup, that's it.
Also I don't think the economy in any city affects the players performance. Detroit has won the cup several times in the past 10 years and the big 3 were making huge money and Detroit was thriving as a city. What's the difference this year?
