Who's missing from the Hockey Hall of Fame?
Mon, November 10, 2008

Edmonton Oilers president Kevin Lowe is happy that Glenn Anderson is finally in the Hockey Hall of Fame. But there are a lot of players who had great careers that have not been enshrined yet.

Who do you feel have been snubbed by the Hall's selection committee? Have your say in our forum.

Honour too long coming

Dino Ciccarelli should have beem inducted long ago over 600 goals should be more than enough

Rick Middleton. It's a travesty this Bruins legend isn't in the HOF. Nifty racked up just under 500 goals & picked up around 1000 in a glorious NHL career where he also served as the Bruins co-captain (along with Ray Bourque) at the twilight of his great career. If he would have played with either the Leafs or the Habs, he would have been a shoe-in for the HOF a long time ago.

Luc Robitaille and I don't like the Kings. He has the most goals for a left wing. He has to be a shoo-in and he should be in immediately. The other one and I know this is controversial is Theo Fleury. 7- Time all-star, 8-time 30 goal scorer and twice had 29. And he won a Cup. And his tenacity for someone of his stature was pretty impressive. I know his off the ice issues, but he should be considered.

Paul Henderson.

Have we all as Canadians ever been prouder of a hockey hero?

What's all the Cam Neely bashing? I'm no Bruins fan but hey, the guy was awesome.

Steve Larmer. He spent most of his NHL career being labelled as the most underated player in the league. Unfortunatley that has carried over to the HOF ballot. He was good for 35 goals and 80 points every season...never missed a game. Scored the clincher in the Canada Cup...won the Stanley. He was just as much if not a MORE important member of the Hawks in the 80's than Denis Savard.

I agree with Russ. Campbell has 17 gold and 4 other medals at all levels of the game.

How many men have that many championship medals?

Either that of call it the Mens(HHOF).

I would like to mention one player who has been overlooked for many, many years, and that's former Leafs defenceman Jimmy Thompson. A great defenceman from the 40's & 50's. I'll never know how Cam Neeley made it and Jimmy Thompson didn't. I'm still wishful thinking that he'll get selected one day, after all Dick Duff waited a long, long time.

Even though we have differing political opinions you are bang on in your assessment. It is NOT just about winning Cups, it is about career achievments. Im glad the ridiculous snubbing of Anderson by the petty little HoF voters is finally over. I think Henderson should perhaps be an honorary member but his career was basically that one immortal goal. I would say put Robitaille and Turgeon in as well but rules are rules and I think they need another year still.

As for who's missing, what about Wild Bill Hunter? If he doesn't fit into the builders category I dont know who does.

When a player like Clark Gillies is in the Hall of Fame, the Hall of Fame has lost all of it's credibility so it doesn't matter anyways. Just buddies voting for buddies
