What are your thoughts on the Leafs' roster? Sun, February 8, 2009
What are your thoughts on how the Leafs' roster is shaping up? Who should stay and who should go before the trade deadline? Have your say in our forum.
I am not a Leafs fan...never have been ,never will be...but standing on the outside and looking in...what the Leafs need now is PATIENCE from their FANS and give them the chance to develop and get better and they will get better!

I have watched all the pre season games and reg games to this point .The team is REBUILDING point in fact .
I have had more FUN ( as hockey should be taken as ) watching this younger new team then in the past .They are playing with HEART .I for one love the faster plays, not like the older leafs , that would let you make a drink in the kitchen before making it to the other end.I for one will be cheering you guys on win or loose .

Who cares. As soon as Balsille gets his team, most fans will move over as they are tired of the excuse for management at MLSE.

mr. wilson is to blunt for me. he is a short term coach players will eventully stop playing for him. even when he tries to be funny it comes off as sarcastic.he said he would like to have a fun workplace but you cant keep sitting guys out without telling them why.

Norbit i agree totally. This team plays with a lot of heart and that will translate into wins sooner or later.
They are going in the right direction and they need time to evolve but will be more fun to watch even if they don't make the playoffs this year.
I would rather watch a team of triers anyday.

My thoughts are that Fletch made a lot of moves in the right direction, getting rid of some dead weight, getting some younger guys in and keeping a couple of veterans. Those crowing about how badly they will suck this year are missing the point: they are SUPPOSED to suck in a rebuilding year. Those saying they will make the playoffs are missing the point even more: this is NOT a playoff team. Making the playoffs would be a terrible thing for the Leafs as they would yet again give up good draft picks for a first or possibly second round exit.
Leafs Nation, hear me: PATIENCE. Its what you all need. Expecting playoffs the year after gutting a team is totally unrealistic. Give them time, THEN expect playoffs.

Yep, I like their roster, I'm sure every team in the league likes it too! Free points. Good thing the leafs have Schenn or they'd and this column would be point-less.
