What are your thoughts on how the Leafs' roster is shaping up? Who should stay and who should go before the trade deadline? Have your say in our forum.
Pogge gets little support from Leafs
Burke and Wilson seem to know the problem - NO TALENT - but can they do anything to improve the situation besides sign a few college kids?
Laffs desperately need a goaltender (Vesa is a good backup who simply cannot be taught how to stop pucks going over his shoulder once he is in his butterfly position) and some defensemen! For crying out loud it was painful watching Finger try to pokecheck his way out of trouble or to see Ian White shaken like a rag doll whenever there was a scrum in front of the net.
At the start of the season Wilson was stressing fitness, aggressivenes and good defense. Just like he is stressing again for next season. But you need players with a bit of talent as well to win.
So it comes down to Burke to put his money where his mouth is. Will this be the Era of Burke Blarney, Bluster and Babble. If he truly signs Taveres like he says he will, we'll know there is more to this than meets the eye. Judgment reserved until the 2009/10 roster is iced. There is no core group to work with so it will take much effort over the summer to make it happen.
Wasn't that Boyd Devereaux something else in the final game? A player who nobody wants when on waivers comes back to bite the hand that feeds him. Unbelievable performance moved the Laffs down in the draft order. Had to Laff again at the Laffs for that one.
And one final note until after the draft. The poison injected by JFJ into the Laffs roster still has not worked its way out. And with Mike Penney and Dave Morrison stil part of Laffs' mgt there will be some ugly developments before Laffs win anything.
Over to you Burke and lets see if you can sign someone with a little bit more mojo than Brad May or Hanson.

As for your genius GM, read Buffery's column today. Seems like Burkie didn't re4ad the rule when he handed frogren that big bonus and now it cost him not only $500,000 but his 4th round pick as well. Yep, a real genius.

if you don't like it, you are free to leave.

Oh, and by the way, both the Sens and Leafs were officially eliminated last evening by the Habs win.
